We've come a long way since Maddi began a labor of love, putting together a website from scratch devoted to a Spanish football club from a town no one had heard of. We were frankly overwhelmed when SB Nation asked us to come on board several years later as one of their 330+ sports blogs, and we've been delighted at the support they have given us and the growth in our community as a result.
In the next month SB Nation will be undergoing a dramatic upgrade to our platform and our editorial process, and redesigning blog logos is a first step in creating a new visual identity across the network of sites. United through individuality is the underlying theme of this project. SBN's graphic designers worked with us to incorporate our team and badge colors, as well as keep the spirit of the previous logo , while at the same time making it clear that we are a part of the larger SB Nation network.
So, without further ceremony, here it is! We think it looks pretty cool, and no one else has the yellow and red thing going on anything like we do!
You probably know Villarreal is one of only three Spanish football clubs with a blog on SB Nation (and the only one in the Valencian Community, heh), but you may not know about some of the other soccer sites on SBN, or those devoted to other sports. Take a look at all the new logos on a special page at sbnation.com/united, and check out some of these other sites.
Sid, Maddi, Ravi and I do our best to cover the most wonderful club we know of, and we are incredibly thrilled and appreciative at the way so many of you help us cover things Villarreal. Now we will be able to make use of more resources across the network of blogs to improve our content, as well as promote Villarreal better to other soccer fans.
Our passion for our club is unending, and that passion makes Villarreal USA and SB Nation a special place that will be enhanced by these new changes.
ENDAVANT VILLARREAL!! ENDAVANT VILLARREAL USA!!
