and it is sad. But their last couple of matches he had that look of a man who expected the sack, I thought. A bit like Garrido his last couple of matches, he was less animated than usual and seemed resigned to his fate. Will be curious to see what happens next.

a promising player, but only 19. Scored bundles of goals for Feyonoord last year. Presumably Inter would loan him; of course they just signed Freddy Guarin as noted above

which doesn’t really solve anything for this weekend does it? Apparently Negredo will miss the game for Sevilla with an injury, so maybe both teams will play a 4-6-0 :)

rumored they offered €9MM, but if I know my Italian football clubs it would probably have been payable over 3-4 years. And I don’t know if there would have been time to agree on salary and image rights anyhow.

Victor Franch (Onda Cero Castellon) says there won’t be anything new today. So I guess we wait….

so at the moment OFFICIALLY we have Martinuccio on loan for the A team plus Esteban Orfano for the B team

we appear to be trying to get Zigic, perhaps on loan as well (and if no luck there, I expect we may try for Carew since those two were bracketed together earlier).

and there is also the Chilean youngster Robles who was working out with us, would be B team help as well if he comes

unless Tottenham suddenly comes to their senses and accepts our offer for Gio, that may be it.

BTW, Juan Arango (GOL TV in US, covers South American futbol and loves the Copa Libertadores) likes him, says he has “great movement, pace”. I’m excited about this one.

(still disappointed we didn’t go for Sebastian Coates last summer, though….oh well, the time to get him cheap was before the Copa America)

I think if Tottenham came to their senses and allowed us to sign Gio for a reasonable price, we would still do it. But they don’t seem willing to. I don’t see any way Dos Santos is getting off the Spurs bench until the summer.

We’re still out there apparently looking for another, but it has been reported that we are keeping Nilmar until the end of the season. According to canal fichajes:
