Result: Ponferradina 1-5 Villarreal B
Sorry for the lack of content. As maddi mentioned, we've both been slammed at work. Thanks to our wonderful readers for keeping the site running.
An update on the B team over the past 2 weeks:
In the last hours of the transfer window, the B team made 3 personnel moves. Out went Bruno Renan (to Shakhtar Donetsk for €1.5 million); in came Danish under-21 striker Nicki Bille Nielsen and our old friend Marquitos (on loan from Valladolid).
In Jornada 2, the B team triumphed 1-0 over Albacete. Check out the golazo scored by Airam, last season's pichichi of Segunda B with Tenerife B:
And earlier today, the B team thrashed Ponferradina 1-5 at the modest El Toralín. The goals came from the expected sources: Iago Falqué, Facundo Coria, Nicki Bille Nielsen (2), and Marcos Gullón. Fantastic debut for the young Danish striker.
Now that the B team squad has been reinforced, can we expect another top-half finish this year? All signs point to yes. What do you think?
Stay tuned for a match preview tomorrow. It's been a long 2 weeks.

As a FC Nordsjælland supporter, I’m sure Nicki Bille won’t be playing in the B-squad for very long. This half season and he’s in the A-squad.

Thanks for the optimism!! I hope he will too! Personally I would love another John Dahl Tomasson!!

Did we sell Marquintos to Valladolid with a buy back clause? why do we sign him back on loan?

Bille has been a leading star, in the danish league and on the danish u21. He is going to be great for us!! excellent deal.
I really agree with The-k, he is not going to play for B-squad very long.

The goals are now up on submarinoamarillo.net; well worth a look. Falque’s screamer from outside the box for the first goal and Bille’s chip for the third especially.
Next Saturday Villarreal B play Las Palmas, who won this fixture last year 5-2 and have made a good start to this season.
