Highlights: Almeria 4-2 Villarreal
Missed the match, but it's a disappointing result. I did warn you it was a tough place to play, recalling last year when Senna and Cazorla were injured between Champions League quarterfinal matches against Arsenal. Two bad breaks for Musacchio: an awful deflection off Javi Venta on the 1:0 and no choice but to take down Piatti and earn a straight red shortly thereafter. A little gamesmanship on both red cards, however. Nice to see Marcano (after two months in the doghouse) and Ibagaza on the scoresheet, but it was too little, too late. We need more from our strikers against Valencia.
Some news and notes:
- Almeria game recap from the club website.
- Barcelona's Sergi Busquets admits he is a horrible person. Not quite, but he is.
- The history of Villarreal-Valencia bodes well: 6-2-2 in 10 matches at El Madrigal.
- And Bruno thinks it's a good time to play Valencia. They don't have anything to play for, right? Except for the chance to ruin our season, which they would relish.
- The B team will have Joan Oriol against Las Palmas. Streams of the islanders often are available, so you might get a Villarreal doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
- Catching up with Jefferson Montero.
- Finally, Kenez's beloved C team has a do-or-die match on Sunday against colista Alicante B. With a win, they make it into the Segunda B playoffs.

piatti can play as a winger and an AM also as a striker. quite versatile and only 19.
we lack teh physical presence in our team. uche is a good player and certainly has teh physical presence we lack and wont cost much either. again stupid tactics by garrido on two occasions no one even was marking teh scorers.

Piatti was 19 when he signed two years ago and is now 21. His contract runs to 2015 with a clause of 45m € so I don’t think we’ll be in the market for him.
Villarreal have been short of physical presence for a long time, the only player of this nature was Eguren who was key to the success in 2007/08. It was a shame that Valverde fell out with him.
Even the best teams go for this type of player.

The stadium of the Mediterranean Games continues to be the field of broken dreams for Villarreal.
Juan Carlos Garrido, took a kamikaze decision to keep three strikers on the field after the team was reduced to 10 men in the 15th minute and left the match to the mercy of the rival. With Bruno moving to the center of defence and keeping the three starting forwards, it left a midfield consisting of Senna and Cazorla. The team was split in two: attack and defense.
It took Garrido until half time to change tactics that everyone saw, but himself. The 4-2-3 became 4-4-1 after the entry of Cani and Ibagaza for Nilmar and Rossi. Better late than never. And the change was so radical that in the blink of an eye the submarine passed from disorder to control the game. The attack turned to the point that the comeback was transformed from a dream to a possibility. The draw was around the corner when Ibagaza made it 3-2 with 24 minutes ahead to achieve the equalizer. Unfortunately the goal that arrived in added time was for Almeria through another counterattack. What would have happened if Garrido had reacted in time?

However, his dad says Falcao perfers the PL
I wonder who will replace Nilmar?
