Villarreal has had its first training session under Ernesto Valverde's leadership, and things are a little different off the bat. According to Javi Venta, day one involved a lot of running, as compared to Pellegrini's method of starting with the ball.
Newsflash for me: Jonathan Pereira apparently goes by the nickname, at least at times, of "Jony." Check out the link - he looks good with a Villarreal CF shield on his chest!
In injury news, Marcos Senna was not available to practice, as he is still recovering from the torn muscle he suffered back in March. He is training on his own, and right now, I do not know what his timetable for full-scale return is.
The internationals who played this summer - Capdevila, Cazorla, Diego Lopez, Rossi, and Altidore will return to the squad on July 27th.
Finally, not sure if this is the last word or not, but Valverde has come out and said that he does not want to sell Cazorla, as he sees Santi as central to the team.
