Altidore in CL?
As Samuel pointed out, Altidore is expected to be registered for the Champions League. Nothing is final yet.

Yeah, just saw that – http://www.goal.com/en/news/1631/atalanta/2009/01/27/1080068/villarreal-table-20m-bid-for-atalanta-ace-floccari
I do not know if I believe it though, despite seeing it in a few different places. With Rossi, Nihat, Llorente, Altidore, plus Jonathan and Ruben, not to mention second-striker types like Mati and Ibagaza, it does not seem like the place we should logically be looking for reinforcements. Plus, Villarreal have never put that kind of bid up for anyone. We will see.

Rumour: Yesterday morning, Valeri Karpin (Real Sociedad, Celta de Vigo and Valencia ex-player and now working for Spartak Moscow) was in the Ciudad Deportiva del Villarreal, why? The rumour today was he came to offer a considerable amount for buying Nihat (they played together at Real Sociedad). Today, llaneza said on local radio that there was an offer for one player. Nothing done by the moment, but one telephon call could be enough to start the operation. If one leave the team, one have to come… No names, just the rumour of Nihat. This evening, Nihat said on local radio that he didn’t have any offer and that he want to stay here. Maybe the offer is for other player? We don’t know anything else, but it’s only 3 days left to finish the signing period, so, who knows…

Man!, i really hope Jozy gets to be in the CL atleast in the last minutes of a game or something, it would be a great experience for him. I think he’s growing more and more and as the Hexagonal opener against Mexico nears I think he will be a huge asset during the road to the WC 2010. This year is the pivota year for American soccer as we know it.
